We Remember: Holocaust Art

Since 2000, as a tribute to his father, whose family was murdered in Nazi concentration camps, Sutz has focused his array of talents full-time to create life masks of Holocaust survivors and paintings of Holocaust scenes.

The works are not for sale. They are intended as an archive, and a way for future generations to connect with the faces of those who survived the atrocities of the past.

There is a campaign underway to establish a permanent gallery for the Robert Sutz We Remember Holocaust Art collection at the Arizona Jewish Historical Society campus in downtown Phoenix.  Please visit this project online to learn more about this extraordinary collaboration.

The artist speaks more about his process in this 8-minute video. The video also includes interviews with survivors who agreed to sit for a life mask. Click on the image below to watch.
